A Busy Weekend In VeryVintageVegas
December 8th, 2008 Categories: Las Vegas Real Estate News
First Friday, Art Gallery Fundraisers, Open Houses at Morelli House, Marathon, Santa Run.
I sure hope you got out of the house, or at least out of the mall. I ran into lots of you this weekend, so I know some of you did.
My First Friday was very short, and cameraless, so I’ve no new pictures to share, but here’s some of the happenings that I did attend.
The Million Calorie desert offerings, lots of people and stunning VCT floors at the Morelli House, which is the home of the Junior Leage of Las Vegas
The Morelli House is the crown jewel (so far) of the historic preservation movement in Las Vegas.
Antonio Morelli, who was the band leader at the Sands, built this home on the Desert Inn Golf Course in 1959.
It was saved from destruction and moved to the corner of 9th and Bridger.
The convergence of the clerestory windows and the decorative concrete blocks which are two of my favorite elements of Mid Century Modernism.
10:30 am Monday— There’s more to come on this post, but the phone keeps ringing and I need to run for the moment to grab an earnest money check for an offer I wrote yesterday. I’ll finish the post shortly. Jack

uJack- If you like clerestories, you’d love our own P&J house shown on my Google “Knol” below. The morning light that we get is truly wonderful! Jerry-
